The Arab League Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Aboul Ghait met Thursday with Fayez Mustafa Al Sarraj, president of the Libyan presidential council of the government of national accord.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Libya in addition to the efforts done to overcome its current situations.
Al Sarraj presented the latest developments in Libya and the role of its presidential council, including the communication between the president and members of the council and other Libyan parties in hope to achieve peaceful political settlement for the Libyan crisis, the Arab League said in a statement.
Aboul Gheit expressed the important role the organization holds to help Libya overcome the current situation and to avoid a vicious cycle of instability and violence. He further stressed the Arab League's support for all the efforts and communication to achieve stability and peace in Libya and commit to the 2015 Skhirat Agreement.
