Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held here on Wednesday talks with the US President Barack Obama on the eve of the Ise-Shima Group of Seven summit, NHK World reported.
The two sides discussed the final arrangements for bilateral cooperation on a number of major issues, which top the Summit agenda such as the global economy and security and terrorism issues.
Abe asked the US president to take effective measures to prevent the recurrence of crimes committed by soldiers and civilian staff working in the US military forces in Japan.
