A six-way meeting of the irrigation and foreign ministers of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia resumed here Saturday with the aim to resolve pending problems regarding the Ethiopian renaissance dam.
Delegations of the three countries will act to reach specific results to soothe fears and concerns of Egypt and settle disputes between the two consultancy offices tasked with conducting studies on the dam.
A joint statement will be issued at the end of the talks today, well-placed sources said, noting that the three countries will also set a date for their next round of negotiations.
During Friday's talks, the Egyptian delegation shed light on concerns about the Ethiopian dam, stressing that Cairo is seeking to reach a consensus on a new mechanism to implement studies on the dam.
An agreement of principles was signed by the three countries in Khartoum in March 2015.
