The Kuwait Writers Association has honored Poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain for his contributions to the promotion of Arab culture and literature. This came during an honoring ceremony held at the association's headquarters here on Monday in presence of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah. Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the event, the minister said he was so happy to partake in the awarding of the Kuwaiti poet who has contributed to Arab and even world literature. "The poet Al-Babtain, through his cultural and literary initiatives, has sought to achieve renaissance in our Arabic language and to promote Kuwait at international cultural events," he said. The Minister appreciated the Kuwait Writers Association's initiative to honor the Kuwaiti poet for his great and important cultural role. On his part, Al-Babtain thanked the minister of information for attending the honoring ceremony as a sign of the State's interest in any initiative that could lead to the promotion of the image of the nation. "We have to use our potential to serve this nation and to incorporate in it, thus boosting our capability for dedication," he said.
