Several tourism ministers and heads of travel agencies attended a ceremony held in Luxor on Wednesday marking the end of the 104th Session of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Executive Council.
The ceremony followed the end of the 5th Global Summit on City Tourism: “Cities: Local Culture for Global Travelers” in Luxor.
Famous violinist Gidon Kremer participated in the ceremony which was attended by tourism ministers of several world countries, including of Zambia, Argentina, Zimbabwe, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Jordan and Palestine.
Also, the heads of tourism agencies of several world countries, including Korea, Kenya, Armenia, Mozambique and Angola, attended the ceremony.
Egyptian Ministers Yehia Rashid of Tourism and Khaled Anani of Antiquities attended the ceremony along with UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai.
The tourism ministers and delegations that took part in the UNWTO meetings toured the Kabash road between Karnak and Luxor Temples and captured photos of archaeological sites.
