A unique collection of 75 original comic drawings from Chinese authors is displayed during the Comic Festival in Brussels, a Xinhua reporter noted Saturday on the spot.
This is the first time that Chinese cartoons come to the Comic Festival in Brussels, whose 6th edition is organized from Sept. 4 to 6, 2015.
During the festival, a selection of works by 12 Chinese artists shows the audience the special charm of Chinese contemporary comics, which has attracted the special attention of thousands of fans of comics since Friday.
This original initiative is carried by Atlas International Culture, a Belgian company advocating exchange and cultural discoveries between China and Europe, in partnership with Beijing Total Vision Culture Spreads Co., Ltd.
"We are looking forward to offering the European public, through fresh initiatives, numerous discoveries on various aspects of the Chinese culture," said the director of Atlas, Wang Haichen, to Xinhua.
According to Wang, there is a good prospect for collaboration on comics between Belgium and China, since Belgium is a Kingdom of comics and China is also a country with a rich cartoon heritage and cartoons.
Each year, nearly 300 television animated series, 40 animated films and thousands of comics are produced and distributed in China. The new creations reflect the traditional culture, style, spirit and the Chinese dream abound.
Since 2010, the Comic Festival celebrate comics in all its forms in Brussels and welcomes more than 100,000 people each year. Young and old, amateurs or professionals, everyone is benefiting from the activities.
