The UAE Writers Union has celebrated the recent UN acclamation of His Highness the Amir (of Kuwait) Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as an international "humanitarian leader" and Kuwait's designation as a "humanitarian center." Kuwait, since a long time ago, has been renowned for superiority in a lot of sectors, particularly those concerning humanitarian and social issues. Its efforts at the humanitarian level, under His Highness the Amir's leadership, has "left positive impact in many states in the region in particular and the world in general." The Kuwaiti Ambassador to the UAE, Salah Al-Buaijan, in remarks to KUNA after the celebration, expressed gratitude to the UAE leaders for the generous overture that depicted the brotherly ties between the two countries.
For his part, the Secretary General of Kuwait's Writers Association (KWA), Talal Saad Al-Rumaidi, said Kuwait and the UAE have been bonded with deep-rooted cultural relations since a long time ago.
Al-Rumaidi boasted that His Highness the Amir and the State of Kuwait were honored by the UN, noting that the Kuwaiti association signed, last year, an agreement with the UAE Writers Union for exchanging publications and organizing reciprocal visits by officials of the two countries for sake of enhancing ties at this level.
