Minister of Tourism Yehia Rashid called for protecting the Arab cultural heritage which reflects a genuine Arab identity and the great civilization of its peoples.
The minister's remarks came during his address at a ceremony to celebrate Arab Heritage Day at the Arab League.
The event was attended Deputy Arab League Secretary General Ambassador Ahmed bin Heli, Minister of Awqaf Mokhtar Gomaa, Minister of Culture Helmi el Namnam as well as a galaxy of university professors and experts in the Arab history of culture and civilization.
The minister pointed out to the importance of achieving economic and social balance along with preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Arab region and keep it from depletion or destruction.
He said tourism in the nature heritage locations is required by vast categories of tourists.
He said the ministry of tourism is intensifying its efforts to lure Arab tourists through programs that meet their requirements
