HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Chung Keejon visited the Public Corporation for the Cultural Village (Katara).
During the visit the Korean Ambassador expressed his admiration for this great cultural institution, noting that Katara became one of the masterpieces of cultural enterprises and institutions in the world and not just a cultural district accommodating unique buildings that attracts all ages, classes and nationalities to learn about arts and cultures of the world. It has also become an important tourist attraction, with its entertainment projects and the folkloric and artistic shows from all countries of the world, the Ambassador said.
During the visit, the South Korean Ambassador met with Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Director General of the Public Corporation for the Cultural Village to whom he proposed a show of kites in March. The proposal has been welcomed by Dr Al-Sulaiti who said Katara works to enrich the local cultural scene with various events saying "we always strive to diversify the cultural activities which we host and organize to promote their role aimed to achieve rapprochement among peoples and cultures," Dr Al-Sulaiti said.
The Korean Embassy has organized cultural events in 2014 including the Korean cultural week and giant kites activity which saw a great turnout.
