The Minister of Culture in the republic of Macedonia, Elizabeta Kanceska–Milevska, and Abdulaziz Al-Muslim, Director of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Emirate Sharjah held a meeting on the 24th of December .
The parties discussed ways to develop a good relationship between the countries and the efforts to promote heritage awareness in their respective countries.
Invitations were exchanged amongst the representatives, welcoming participation in one another's major cultural exhibitions and events.
Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of Sharjah Heritage Institute, said, ‘The meeting was fruitful. We invited the Macedonian minister to attend Sharjah's Heritage Day, Narrative Day and other main cultural and heritage activities that occur in Sharjah. These activities attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.' Al Musallam also added that, "the Republic of Macedonia is a country with rich history and culture - that is precisely why it is of special importance to establish positive relations in the field of culture. This will enable a higher exchange of projects and artists."
The Minister of Culture, Elizabeta Kanceska – Milevska, invited the Sharjah Heritage Institute to look into promoting Macedonian culture via its strong network and platforms. She also highlighted the numerous capital investments that the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and the Ministry of Culture are implementing in all segments of cultural life.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Spiro Ristovski, the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to the UAE, and the Director of the National Institute Struga Poetry Evenings, Mite Stefoski, attended the meeting.
