Mega Mall Sharjah, Sharjah's leading shopping destination, is gearing up to host the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition 2015, which will be organised by the Emirates Philatelic Association from 3rd to 7th of November, and will feature a group of philatelists, stamp exhibitors and dealers.
The exhibition will be held on the occasion of Sharjah's selection as the Arab Tourism Capital 2015. The event will highlight the history of postal services in the UAE and a number of the world countries.
A number of postal authorities, stamp dealers and collectors will display their selected albums of rare stamps and banknotes from different countries of the world. On the side-lines of the exhibition, an auction on rare postal stamps will be held.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Sorour, Marketing Manager of Mega Mall Sharjah, said: "We at Mega Mall Sharjah are committed to select the high level activities as well as the promotional and leisure programs that help enrich the experience of our visitors and cater to different tastes and preferences. Through this awareness event, we aim to encourage the positive hobbies which play a key role in chronicling milestone in the UAE's history".
He added: "This annual exhibition attracts a group of leading stamp collectors and dealers from across the region and world, and exhibits rare collections of stamps. We host this event as part of our commitment to inspire this hobby in the UAE and internationally, as well as to provide a platform for stamp enthusiasts to expand their albums and share experiences and ideas with their like-minded peers in this field".
Visitors of the exhibition will be able to view Arab and international postage albums, and to examine the stamps that, in their designs, marks and perforations, reflect stories of the Islamic, Arab and International civilisations since the postage stamp was first used in the region.
