Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information and President of Eighth Islamic Conference of Ministers of Culture, described the conference, which was held in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and wrapped up today, as by all means successful. In a statement following the closing ceremony, he said the conference was enriched by good remarks by all heads of delegations and members of organizations, noting, later, that he has briefed the delegates on all events held in the holy city on the occasion of choosing it as capital of Islamic culture for the year 2013. He expressed appreciation of Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah region, who is also Chairman of the Higher Committee of Choosing Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah as capital of the Islamic culture for his personal follow-up of all events. The minister underscored the great importance attached to the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on dialogue among followers of religions and cultures, calling for activating it in the way that suits cultures of other people. Dr. Khoja stated that the conference has produced a host of very good decisions in the service of cultural communication among Islamic countries that enhance cultural bridges and pave the way for cultural co-existence among all peoples of the world. He expressed belief that multiculturalism is in fact a factor of enrichment for the entire mankind and humanity as well as along human and civilizational history.
