Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Chair for Historical Studies and Civilization of Arabian Peninsula at King Saud University has worked since its launch before four years to deepen scientific and heritage knowledge of the Arabian Peninsula, which has witnessed a lot of events and contributed to the construction of many human civilizations, including the establishment of the Saudi state, which laid the foundations of Security and stability in the region.
The Chair was established after the approval of Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense that the Chair be named after him stemming from his belief in the importance of concerted national efforts in the service of history of the Arabian Peninsula; and the Crown Prince supported its activities.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of the Kingdom's National Day 48, Professor at Department of History at King Saud University and the supervisor of the chair, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser al-Subaie pointed out that the chair of Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz for Historical Studies and civilization of the Arabian Peninsula is a scientific qualitative addition along with other chairs to meet the needs of the people interested in the field of scientific research in the areas of history and civilization in the Arabian Peninsula.
