A paper-cut depicting a horse fight has recently been unveiled in the county-level city of Laizhou in Yantai, east China's Shandong province, local news portal "shm.com.cn" reported Sunday. The paper horse's head, body and tail are connected by a messenger wire; upon pulling the wire, the horse will gallop. According to Chen Shuxiang, the paper-cut artwork owner and himself a paper cutting folk artist, reveals that his collection of paper-cut art relating to fights between chickens, horses and monkeys, which used to be popular in the Jiaodong area in Shandong, nearly get lost today. The horse fight paper-cut Chen recently showcased had been collected from a local folk household by her friend Li Qiang, who is also a local folk paper-cut art master.
