This year’s edition of ADIHEX (Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition) featured special Omani participation that offered visitors the chance to take a glimpse at the country’s unique culture and its strong links to equestrianism. For the first time, the Omani Royal Cavalry of the Royal Court Affairs was present this year with a unique stand at the exhibition. At the booth, visitors could watch the process of making the beautiful Omani hand-made silver saddle (known as Zanat Al Khail) in the hands of experienced craftsmen and better understand the equine culture of Oman. Saif Bin Ali Al-Rawahi from the Royal Cavalry said “we would like to express our gratitude to the organizers of the event for inviting us to come and participate in this special show for the first time. The show gives us the chance to interact with other international players in the equestrian industry and to exchange ideas and experiences.” Hassan Al Beloushi, press officer at the Royal Cavalry, expressed his gratitude as well and added, “We annually participate in relevant events in Dubai, and this year we were honored to come and support our brothers in Abu Dhabi as well. We have identified strong leads during the show within companies that we may be able to work with in the future.” Over the years, ADIHEX has successfully developed into a truly international show where visitors and exhibitors that have interests relevant to either of the two sports meet and interact. This year, the show was held between the 14th and 17th September 2011 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), and under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Al Gharbia (the Western Region) in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and President of the Emirates Falconers Club. The Exhibition also enjoys the support of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
