His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, has received a delegation from the U.A.E. Chess Federation, UAECF, headed by Saeed Mohammad Al Miqbali and Saud Mohammed Al Marzooqi, Manager of UAECF.
The delegation included chess players from different age groups who have made significant achievements in the Asian and regional championships, as well as gold, silver and bronze medals winners.
Speaking on the occasion, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said he was impressed by the great achievements of male and female U.A.E. players so far in various tournaments, and stressed his confidence in their competence and the ability of U.A.E. cadres to attain high stature in many fields, including sports.
Sheikh Mohamed added, "Nations are built on brains and not the possession of wealth. It is through the leadership of men and women alike, an approach that needs to be adopted by all, is how a great civilisation is built and how a country develops a better future for its children and grandchildren."
