Under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, LOYAC Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA) presented, late Monday, its first live show of "Min Hawa Al-Andalus" play.
His Highness the Prime Minister praised the young talents in translating cultures and histories through theatrical performance.
He also lauded the role played by civil institutions in encouraging the youth to embrace their creativity.
The first live performance was attended by Frist Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, ministers, senior officials and a host of art and theater enthusiasts.
"Min Hawa Al-Andalus" takes place at the end of the tenth century A.D in Andalusia at the palace of Al-Zahra in Cordoba. It highlights the most political and dramatic events that occurred during and after the reign of the Ummayad Caliph Al-Mustansir Billah, the ninth in the Ummaya line in Andalusia. Under his rule, the sciences were said to have flourished and the largest and the largest library in the world was built in Cordoba.
LAPA is the first academy in Kuwait that caters to all aspects of the performing arts such as music, dance and theatre. It believes that a major component to creating highly effective performing artists is performance, therefore LAPA showcases the talents of its students at major events and annual theatrical productions.
