Kuwait's Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Sabah welcomed here on Tuesday the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and a delegation with him visiting the country upon invitation from the Kuwaiti minister.
Upon arrival, the Kuwaiti minister indicated in a brief statement that the two sides would discuss cultural and media issues of significance to them. He added that the visit was a further sign of growing relations between the two countries.
The Iranian minister stressed that cultural ties between his country and Kuwait were deep-rooted and had grown progressively in the past few decades, noting that he himself had wonderful memories about his stint in Kuwait as an ambassador for Iran.
He expressed delight that he would take part in the event fostered here by Kuwait to honor the distinguished Iranian poet Hafez Shirazi. He said he looked forward to discussing bilateral issues with his Kuwaiti hosts.
