There should be a doubling of efforts by those concerned to advance the cultural, artistic, and literary outputs in the country under the care of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL), said Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Sabah al-Salem al-Humoud al-Sabah in a press statement on Saturday. Heading a meeting of NCCAL to probe its agenda for the upcoming cultural events season starting in the fall, Sheikh Salman, who is also the State Minister for Youth Affairs and Chairman of NCCAL, told the Council\'s officials and sponsors that the new season should lay out a strategy to serve the interests of, among others, the youth. He emphasized that NCCAL venues for events in the coming season should not be confined to a limited number of locations as has been done in the past but instead should be extended to all the nation\'s six governorates in order to generate wider appeal for these events. Echoing the minister\'s sentiments, acting secretary general of NCCAL, Shehab al-Shehab, told the same meeting that the Council was keen to offer the public a wide gamut of events that should find favor with them, stressing the emphasis on programs that would appeal largely to the youth.
