The Israeli embassy in Tokyo donated 300 books about Holocaust victim Anne Frank to replace those that had been vandalized at libraries, officials said. In the past year, 308 books about the Holocaust, including copies of Frank's "Diary of a Young Girl," were found damaged at 38 public libraries throughout Tokyo. Peleg Lewi, minister and deputy of the Israeli embassy in Tokyo visited a library where some of the largest number of books were damaged and presented the donation to Suginami Mayor Ryo Tanaka, Jiji Press reported Thursday.
