Iranian Culture Minister Ali Jannati expressed the hope that consolidation of Tehran-Tunis cultural ties would pave the ground for the promotion of the relations between the two sides in various domains.
Speaking in a meeting with Tunisian Minister of Trade and Handicrafts Najla Harrouche in Tehran on Tuesday, Jannati said that Iran and Tunisia have deep and excellent relations in various political, economic and cultural fields.
He further voiced Iran's readiness to host Tunisia's cultural week to provide suitable opportunity for both nations and artists to become more acquainted with each others' culture and history.
Jannati said that Tunisia has always been governed by rationality and wisdom throughout the history.
Despite existing unrest in North of Africa, Tunisia enjoys tranquility and stability, he said.
Jannati expressed pleasure in the democratic trend of presidential election in Tunisia and said that the elections proved that the Tunisian government has been successful to develop democracy in presence of political parties.
In October, former Tunisian President Mohammad Monsef al-Marzuki in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Tunis Mostafa Boroujerdi underlined that his country is willing to expand all-out cooperation with Iran.
"Iran and Tunisia should try harder to broaden bilateral ties," the Tunisian president said during the meeting in Tunis.
President Marzuki, meantime, voiced pleasure in his meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly meeting in New York in September.
