The Egyptian Iftaa House will organize on Monday an international conference for Iftaa under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi with the participation of senior muftis from 50 countries.
During the two-day event, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb will deliver a keynote speech.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab will also give a speech on Egypt's keenness for the conference to come out with applicable recommendations to curtail unprofessional fatwas.
In statements Sunday, mufti spokesman Ibrahim Negm said the conference aims to acknowledge problems facing the modern Iftaa world and find solutions.
An initiative will be launched during the conference to form a Cairo-based general secretariat as an international organization specialized in coordinating between Iftaa sides around the world, he said.
