Chairman of Farazdaq center for culture and community development Nasser Al-Shammari lauded Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah's support for youth initiatives in various fields. In a press conference during the launching of the center's activities late Wednesday, Al-Shammari thanked Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah for the unlimited support to the center's activities and programs that aim to raise cultural level and social status of Kuwaiti youth. This support helped to invest young people's potential, highlight their creativity, in addition to the developing their talent and raising their level of awareness, Al-Shamari said. On the center's activities program, Al-Shammari said that it will highlight the cultural and humanitarian happenings in Kuwait and will be focusing on issues pertaining to youth, women, children, and environment. The center will kick start activities on June 5 with a "World Environment Day" celebration, said Al-Shammari The Farazdaq center took its name from the great 7th century Arab poet Hammam ibn Ghalib Abu Firas, who was known as Al-Farazdaq. He was born in Kadhima area, north of modern day Kuwait, and lived in Basra, Iraq
