Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damaty on Thursday denied media reports that the burial mask of the world's most famous pharaoh, Tutankhamun, has been glued together after a cleaner accidentally broke it.
"No committee from the ministry or from German experts was formed to check the mask," Damaty told MENA.
He urged reporters and media representatives to pay visits to the Egyptian Museum in order to make sure that the mask is totally sound.
Earlier, news websites said the burial mask of Tutankhamun was permanently damaged after curators used the wrong kind of glue to reattach its 'beard'.
