An Egyptian Cultural Club will open in New York on the fringe of the UN General Assembly meetings and Egypt's participation with a high-profile delegation next month.
In statements on Sunday, Michael Morgan, a prominent member of the Egyptian community in New York and Host of "The American Pulse" program which is aired on the Egyptian Satellite TV, said the program will organize a special event on this occasion in the presence of a number of Egyptian intellectuals and members of the Egyptian community in the US along with public figures from Egypt.
He pointed out that strenuous efforts are constantly being exerted by the Egyptian community in the US whether individually or collectively to back Egypt politically and economically.
Morgan said that the idea of establishing an Egyptian cultural club in the US aimed at supporting Egypt politically and economically and it will be inaugurated coinciding with the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to New York to take part in UNGA meetings in September.
He said the Egyptian Cultural Club will present several programs that will involve serious participation by the Egyptians who are influential in the American media to portray the real image about Egypt to the Americans and decision makers in the US.
The new club will focus on programs to back Egypt's tourism market and extend links between Egyptians at home and the second and third generations in the US, he said.
Also, a student exchange program will be suggested to bolster cooperation between the universities and academic foundations in both countries, he explained.
