Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Tuesday with his Saudi counterpart Adel al Jebair on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah.
A Foreign Ministry spokesman said the meeting between the two top diplomats was part of non-stop coordination between their countries.
The meeting took up means of boosting bilateral relations in all fields and in a way that serves the best interests of both peoples, the spokesman said.
They particularly focused on political, economic, trade and cultural ties, he added.
The meeting also tackled a number of regional issues of mutual concern, atop of which challenges and threats facing the Arab world, the spokesman further said.
He noted that the two sides also discussed the latest developments in Yemen in light of the Geneva negotiations meant to reach a political solution to the crisis.
The situation in Syria, Iraq and Libya was also probed, the spokesman said.
