An Egyptian-French citizen has handed over an ancient golden mask to the Antiquities Ministry.
The man, Shehab Omar el Farouq, said that his friend gave him the mask as a gift.
In statements on Thursday, General supervisor of the Antiquities Repatriation Department Shaaban Abdel Gawad said that the mask was placed in the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square.
For his part, Director General of the Egyptian Museum Sabah Abdel Razek said that the mask was sent to the museum to conduct the necessary restoration work.
