Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has lauded the distinguished determination of Bahraini youths, particularly cancer patients, to face and overcome all challenges.
This came as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Bahraini researcher Hmood Jassim Hmood, along with his father assim Abdulla, who presented him a copy of his book "My Return to Life A Youth’s Experience with Cancer".
The book documents the writer’s therapeutic journey, experience with the various stages of cancer and the pain he had suffered during the treatment and recovery. It also includes advice to cancer patients on how to overcome the disease.
The Deputy Premier said that the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, spares no effort to provide treatment for the all citizens.
He added that the government allocates special interest in cancer patients so as to help them recover and continue serving the homeland, along with other citizens, citing the BD 32-million Oncology Centre, being built next to the King Hamad University Hospital and will help with the early detection tests and treatment of cancer among patients.
Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts exerted by the author to compile such a valuable book, which will benefit patients and help them fight cancer.
He also valued highly the efforts exerted in Bahrain to raise awareness on cancer, praised the crucial role played by the Bahrain Cancer Society in this regard.
Hmood Jassim and his father expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Khalid for his support, noting that the government’s care and family solidarity helped him defeat cancer.
