Dean of the College of Arts at Kuwait University called on setting up a website dedicated to fiction writing in the Gulf countries to attract international attention to the traditions and customs of the region. Dr. Hayat Hajji made this remark at a two-day seminar that highlighted the history of writing novels in the Gulf region. The seminar was attended by a host of intellects and academics where they provided social, economic and political analyses of some of the major novels. Dr. Hayat pointed out that the main goal of the website is to translate some of the novels into other foreign languages in order to have an international recognition. The seminar was co-hosted by Sultan bin Al-Owais Cultural Foundation in Dubai; a foundation that encourages and supports Arab scholars, litterateurs and intellectuals.
