President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmalik Al-Shaikh.
The meeting aimed bolster joint cooperation and take advantage of bilateral cultural and social rapprochement to implement joint cultural projects.
Shaikha Mai lauded the bilateral relations and highlighted the joint cultural movement that reflected the historic depth of human ties.
She pointed out that Saudi Arabia had played a prominent role in enriching the Bahraini cultural scene through various cultural contributions, including the recent exhibition "Modern and Contemporary Saudi Art, The Al-Mansouria Collection," held in Bahrain National Museum.
She expressed delight and gratitude for the bilateral cooperation, involving cultural and historical components, in light of Manama's heritage festival 2015 themed " "Our Year of Heritage."
Dr. Al-Shaikh affirmed that Bahrain is playing an outstanding role in highlighting the region's authentic culture through multiple activities and festivals, pointing out that Bahrain has become a major destination for Gulf and Arab tourists.
He said that intellectual Bahraini-Saudi ties and cooperation had fruitful results at the knowledge level, expressing his country's constant readiness to participate in Bahrain's cultural and intellectual development process.
