Minister of Antiquities and Heritage Mamdouh Eldamaty inspected Sunday the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.
The minister followed-up security measures at the Museum and inspected the central control room linked to a control room through 119 surveillance cameras 24 hours a day.
Eldamaty also inspected the reparation
work and ongoing development of the museum so the various interior walls and flooring will be returned to its original.
The project includes removing entries that have been added over years, and seven modern layers that obliterated the original walls and decorations.
The first phase of the museum rehabilitation, which includes Hall of King Tutankhamun will be completed within 45 days, the minister said.
