Japan, S Korea want EU to ease Iran sanctions

Asia oil buyers, including Japan and South Korea, and global ship insurers are reportedly lobbying European Union officials to revise planned sanctions against Iran. They want the EU to allow Europe’s insurance market to continue to cover Iranian oil shipments to Asia. “We argue that this regulation applies too broadly as it also hits non-European companies,\" Reuters quoted a South Korean government source as saying. “Not only South Korea, but also Japan, China and others face the same situation.”
