Minister of Finance cum minister-in-charge-of-the-oil-and-gas-affairs, HE Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has conducted a series of meetings with senior US officials, as part of his visit to the United States of America. The Minister of Finance minister-in-charge-of-the-oil-and-gas-affairs met with the chief of the US congressional sub-committee for energy affiliated to the public commission on energy and trade , Mr. Ed Whitfield, and explored with him how to bolster cooperation and exchange expertise between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the USA pertaining to supervision and control aspects of the oil and gas sector, training programs and mechanisms in order to develop professional skills of workers in this field as well as energy saving, restrictions which ensure the use of cleaner and safer sources of energy and taking into consideration a balanced economic growth and compliance with environmental safety standards. The Minister of Finance cum minister-in-charge-of-the-oil-and-gas-affairs also met with the US Energy Ministry acting undersecretary cum assistant minister for international policies and affairs , Mr. David Sandalo and explored with him various issues pertaining to the oil and gas sector, the latest developments in the industry both regionally and internationally. During the meeting the two sides also explored aspects related to sources of renewable energy for instance, solar, wind, geothermal energy and its role in blending and diversification of sources of energy. The Minister of Finance cum minister-in-charge-of-the-oil-and-gas-affairs also met with the US first deputy of the assistant secretary of state Mr. Robert Sikota, and explored with him bilateral cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America related to the oil and gas sector and ways to ensure stable oil prices in global markets.
