Egypt on Saturday resumed its export of natural gas from Sinai to Israel and Jordan after GASCO repaired the damage to the pipeline, a source in the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum today said. The pipeline that delivers natural gas to Israel and Jordan was attacked last week, which was the seventh such attack since the January 25 Revolution. “It is difficult to determine the losses expected from the recent explosion,” the source added. The export of natural gas to Israel is largely unpopular in Egypt, and many citizens believe that the agreement made by the former regime to export the resource violated the Egyptian constitution because it was passed without the consent of the People’s Assembly.
