HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada said today that upon the initiative by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Doha will host the First Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), on November 15. HE the Minister of Energy and Industry that the initiative stressed HH the Emir\'\'s belief of the important role played by natural gas globally as a source of clean energy as well as HH the Emir\'\'s interest in supporting dialogue at the highest levels between the producers in order to achieve optimum utilization of their natural wealth and provide a better degree of stability in the supply of natural gas to the consuming countries. A statement issued by the Qatar Petroleum (QP), the organizer of the Summit, said that the 13th ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) is scheduled for November 13 in preparation and coordination for the meeting of GECF leaders. Doha hosts the permanent headquarters of the Secretariat of the Forum. Among the objectives of the conference are to coordinate efforts between producers to promote the gas industry worldwide as well as open the way for the exchange of experiences and cooperation in the development of advanced technology and expand its use, to diversify and provide security of supply through cooperation among producers.
