World Bank provides $220m in loan to Albania

 Albania signed on Friday an agreement with the World Bank on a 220 million U.S. dollars' loan, according to ATSH news agency.
The agreement was inked here by Albanian Minister of Finance Shkelqim Cani and the country manager of World Bank office in Tirana Tahseen Sayed.
World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Laura Tuck said that the global lender's support aims to improve fiscal sustainability of the Albanian government.
She appealed to the Albanian government to push ahead with the economic and fiscal reforms.
Tuck congratulated the Albanian government for its seriousness about this short-term road to economic growth and job creation by launching tough reforms.
"We see in Albania a country with great potentials for economic growth and with the lowest cost of work force in the continent," Tuck said, stressing the importance of the efforts to ensure macro-fiscal stability in the medium term as well as to restructure energy sector and improve public services' quality.
