Qatar National Bank (QNB) hosted a graduation ceremony for employees who completed a job skills development programme, the bank said Wednesday.
The course participants did an international best practice Credit Skills Development Programme, recognized by The Chartered Institute of Bankers and other banking institutions across the world.
The programme promotes a greater working understanding of credit skills and the enhancement of "uniform risk cultures" within organizations, QNB said.
QNB's Group Chief Credit Officer and other Senior Leadership team members at QNB Offices attended the ceremony hosted by The Human Capital Division.
QNB will hold a second series for selected employees later in the year, buoyed by the success of the initial phase of this programme.
Commenting on the success, QNB Group Chief Credit Officer Fareeda Abulfath said, "Investing in people and career development is a core principle for QNB.
"The bank encourages its employees to take responsibility for their careers and in return offers rewarding and varied opportunities to experience different parts of the QNB Group global business as well as building a valuable portfolio of skills, knowledge and capabilities.
With the support of QNB's Learning and Development team, initiatives such as The Credit Skills Development Programme help our employees to apply best practice techniques in a truly international working environment. We look forward to developing this concept further in the near future." QNB currently operates in 26 countries and across three continents and has approximately 14,000 employees in 590 Office locations and was recently voted 'The Best Bank in The Middle East' by Euromoney Magazine. It is listed on Qatar Exchange with the acronym QNBK.
