Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) has won the bronze award at the final event of the Digital Impact Award, the lender announced Monday. In a media statement CBQ said it won the award for its website design in a pool of competitors that included top global brands like Aviva and Barclays. The Digital Impact Awards sets standards across the digital communications industry. Launched in 2009, it is now the biggest European celebration of digital stakeholder engagement. Thirty judges at the top competition examined entries submitted by branding-industry professionals for clients all over the world, looking for the most effective, integrated and creative campaigns to merit recognition. CBQ was placed as a final medallist winning bronze in the category 'Best Use of Digital in the Financial Services Sector', alongside Barclays (Gold) and Aviva (Silver). Commenting on the honour, CBQ CEO Abdulla Saleh Al Raisi said, "We are delighted that our improved website has won the Digital Impact Award. This award recognises exactly the qualities we wanted to provide to our customers - improved convenience, functionality and access; increased relevance to their needs; and a dynamic, fresh appearance reflecting our 24-hour commitment and our promise that with us 'everything is possible'." The Qatari bank recently improved and enhanced its website in direct response to customer wishes for greater ease of use, identical pages in both Arabic and English, and 24-hour, digital banking services.
