The total value of monetary deposits at the UAE Central Bank amounted to AED123 billion during H1 2017, AED122.95 billion of which are in banknotes and AED50 million in coins.
On a month-over-month basis, the deposits increased by 20.5 percent, rising from AED102 billion in May to AED123 billion in June, according to Central Bank statistics released recently.
The month of May was the most active during which the total deposits increased to AED21.9 billion from AED21.8 billion in April.
The deposits reached AED21 billion in June, AED20.9 billion in January, AED19.5 billion in March and AED17.8 billion in February.
In the meantime, money withdrawals from the Central Bank hit AED129.3 during the first half of the year, AED129.23 billion of which are in banknotes and AED73 million in coins.
Total withdrawals amounted to AED25.56 billion in May, AED22.7 billion in June, AED22 billion in March, AED20.6 billion in January, AED20.07 billion in April, declining to AED18.1 billion in February.
