The European Investment Bank (EIB) delegation announced its continuous support for Egyptian electricity projects planned in the bilateral cooperation programme during this critical time in the wake of the 25 January Revolution with investments worth Euro 610 million. Projects include the wind farm of Gebel Zeit, a project to promote and strengthen the Egyptian National Network of Electricity, and financing North Giza plant (1 and 2) with the capacity of 1500 megawatts. Hassan Younis, the Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy, said during his meeting with the delegation early on Friday that the EIB is one of the most important funding agencies supporting energy in Egypt. \"We discussed other projects to be funded from the bank, including the North Giza plant (3), as well as the wind plant project in the Gulf of Suez, with a capacity of 200 MW,\" Younis added.
