What is it? It's a wireless-enabled, battery-powered hard drive designed to be used with your iOS devices — that is your iPad, iPhone and iPods. But my iOS device already has storage space. Why do I need this? True, but with games and applications increasing in size and higher-speed internet connections feeding digital gluttony, it doesn't take too long before you run out of space on them. Unlike other manufacturers, Apple's products don't come with expandable storage and you're forced to either stick with it or trade it for a new device. With the Wi-Drive you can have more storage space without having to switch or upgrade. So more movies and magic for me? Not just you, actually. The Wi-Drive will stream content to three iOS devices. It's the perfect companion for an Apple family on a long vacation. And how does this work? Sizing in very close to the iPhone 4, the Wi-Drive is rather simple to set up and operate. You drag and drop media files on to the drive when connected to your computer. Connect your iOS device through Wi-Fi and you can access the content on the Wi-Drive through an application. What does it cost? At $130 (Dh478) for 16GB and $175 (Dh643) for 32GB, the price is certainly on the higher side. If you will be using it just for a single device, you're better off spending the dough on a higher-capacity device the next time around. However, if you will share it among multiple devices, then the cost justifies itself.
