A computer market analyst said U.S. technology firm Apple\'s newly released operating system might quickly surpass its predecessor in popularity. The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday 45.5 percent of Mac owners are still clinging to the 2009 operating system Snow Leopard, while only 35 percent were using the operating system called Lion, which was theoretically an improvement over Snow Leopard. But Apple released Mountain Lion two days ago and its sales pace puts it on track to overtake Lion, if not Snow Leopard, the newspaper said. GigaOM reported the adoption rate for Mountain Lion is 3.2 percent. In its favor, it has gotten good reviews and it\'s cheaper than Lion, which GigaOM said \"was a confusing cacophony of new features.\"
