Can your iPhone withstand a 45-feet fall? No. Yes, it can.
A video showing an iPhone being dropped from as high as 45 feet and surviving the fall on the concrete without a scratch has swept the Internet. The secret lies in the case.
Being dubbed as The Limitless case by Mous, the video has gone viral ever since it went live on crowdfunding site Indiegogo.
At the time of filing this reporting, the iPhone case had gained a total financial backing of $1,503,635. Interestingly, the video was put up only in January this year.
According to the Indiegogo listing, the Limitless case is the product of numerous field tests (which involved lots of broken iPhones) equipped with cases available in the market. The Limitless case uses an advanced material called Airo Shock, which absorbs the impact of every fall.
Going into the details, the Mous team explains that their Airo Shock technology involves injecting micro-crystals into the base material. These micro-crystals then turn to micro air pockets which act as tiny springs to brace your smartphone for impact.
