Here is a good news for iPhone buffs, especially those running on tight budget and can't lay hands on the latest iterations from UAE . The Cupertino-based is offering its UAE fans a chance to trade in older versions with the new ones with credit as high as Dh1,550.

"Get up to Dh1,550 in credit towards a new iPhone. It's easy. Just trade in your eligible smartphone and then use the credit to lower the cost of a new iPhone," it said in a statement.

The customers can take older iPhone or any eligible smartphone to an Apple stores in the UAE - which are located in Dubai Mall, Mall of Emirates and Yas Mall - and get immediate credit towards the purchase of the new device.

The US technology giant launched its latest iPhone iterations in the UAE on Saturday at the three stores which failed to attract such a large number of fans as compared to its previous launches. The UAE retailers attributed slower sales due to people waiting for Apple's new iteration - the iPhone X (pronounced at 10) - which will be launched in November. The 4.7-inch display iPhone 8 has been priced at Dh2,849 while 5.5-inch display iPhone 8 Plus costs Dh3,249, according to Apple's UAE website.

Customers can get estimated trade-in value of Dh1,420 for iPhone 7 Plus, Dh1,240 for iPhone 7, Dh835 for iPhone 6 Plus, Dh720 for iPhone 6s and Dh560 for iPhone 6 Plus. Among other older versions, customers can get credit value of Dh445 for iPhone 6, Dh475 for iPhone SE, Dh260 for iPhone 5s, Dh200 for iPhone 5c and iPhone 5.

People owning other eligible smartphones and want to switch to iPhone 8 can also opt for trade-in with values ranging from Dh40 to Dh1,550, Apple said in a statement on its website.

And if you're not sure about the value of your gadget, you can find out by sending IMEI Number or Serial Number to appleonlineare.mpxltd.co.uk.

"Simply tell us about your device using the online form and get an instant estimate from our partner. Mail in your device for free and after a short time, your Apple Store Gift Card will arrive," it said in a statement.

Not just this. Even owners of Apple's Mac or iPad can also trade in online or at an Apple store - provided they're in good condition. But if the device is not functional or has no value, customers can recycle their iPad, iPod, Mac, PC or smartphones through Apple - for free.

The technology giant has certain conditions to avail these offers.

According to Apple, offer is only available on presentation of a valid, government-issued photo ID and the customer must be at least 18-year old.

"Offer may not be available in all stores and not all devices are eligible for credit. To see if your device is eligible, please visit Apple's approved partner for the trade in and recycling of eligible devices. Some stores may have additional requirements," it said, adding that online and in-store values may vary.
