The market of the Western Hemisphere provides ample opportunities for commercial deliveries of the Sukhoi Superjet-100 (SSJ100) plane that should be used in the near future, Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet International Nazario Cauceglia told Itar-Tass at a press conference on Thursday. “We intend to expand ties with potential partners in Latin America in order to conclude new contracts,” Cauceglia said. According to him, the contract with the Mexican company Interjet, which was the first in Latin America to buy a batch of the Sukhoi Superjet-100 planes, opens ample opportunities for the development of trade connections in the region. “I am confident that in the next few months we will receive positive feedback from Mexican customers about our product,” the SuperJet International CEO said. According to him, the plane has shown good results in Mexico, which “will attract the attention of other potential customers” in Latin America. The SSJ100 is a state-of-the-art regional jet developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), in partnership with Alenia Aermacchi. It incorporates the most modern Western technology and offers the highest standards of quality and comfort available in the 100-seat segment. Interjet chose a 93-seat (34’ pitch) configuration, in accordance with the airline’s high standards for passenger comfort. The exclusive interior features were designed by Italian Pininfarina. Compared to other aircraft used to serve the domestic routes in Mexico, the SSJ100 offers wider seats. Nazario Cauceglia also said that SuperJet International would present the Sukhoi Superjet-100 planes at a passenger aircraft show in Cancun, Mexico, in November. The company’s head expressed confidence that at the exhibition the airliner would attract public attention not only by its performance characteristics, but also by a competitive price.
