The organizing committee of His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award announced on Tuesday the development projects for its 13th session and the start of registration for the informatics award, "websites and smart applications." Saleh Al-Asousi, member of the award's board of trustees and the organizing committee, said in a press conference this evening: "The committee extolls HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his kind patronage of the activities of the award which contributed to Kuwait's advancement in this vital domain." Al-Asousi spoke highly of the founder of the award and Chief of the National Guard HH Sheikh Salem for his encouragement to the developers of the award's projects. "The award started in Kuwait in 2001 and kept growing to cover countries in the Arab region in 2007; it went global in 2011," he pointed out. Al-Asousi welcomed registration for the awards for the best websites and best smart applications via the new gateway of the Award which will be open in a special ceremony soon. Meanwhile, Eng. Bassam Al-Shemmeri, member of the committee, said the activities of the Award underwent three stages of development over the last 12 years since the Award's inception. "First, it offered the informatics badge to the best websites and application under the theme of 'Shoft (have you seen) Kuwait;' second, it organized international dialogue; and third, awarding innovation in the field of informatics knowledge," Al-Shemmeri added.
