Mexican Air Force C-130K transporters being upgraded by Canada's Cascade Aerospace are to be outfitted with Rockwell Collins avionics. Rockwell, in a statement from an international aerospace exhibition in Chile, did not give a value for the contract received from the Canadian company but said it will supply two Flight2 integrated avionics systems for the upgrade project. "Mexican Air Force pilots will experience greater situational awareness and communications capabilities with the highly advanced avionics on board these aircraft," said Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director, the Americas, for Rockwell Collins. "This government-to-government contract via Canadian Commercial Corporation will complete the modernization of Mexico's two C-130K Hercules aircraft. "Through our work with Cascade Aerospace, we look forward to continuing our long legacy of helping C-130 pilots achieve their missions with these important upgrades." In addition to supplying the avionics systems, Rockwell Collins will provide in-country, on-site field service engineering and logistics support to during the modifications and testing of the aircraft, which are to take place at Cascade Aerospace in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada. Cascade is part of IMP Aerospace & Defense of Canada.
