The Ministry of Interior, MoI, has launched the second phase of the Terrestrial Trunked Radio, TETRA, development project for mobile communication systems in the northern regions, which serves the police and leaders of MoI's various sectors.
Major-General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Deputy Director of Electronics and Telecommunications Services, stressed the keenness of the police leadership to utilise the latest technologies in providing premium services to the public, streamlining procedures, saving time and effort, and keeping up with the many fields of cultural growth in the U.A.E..
He explained that launching the second phase of the development project follows the review of surveys, technical studies, construction and engineering projects. The second phase aligns with the strategic goals of the Ministry and supports the further achievement of the requirements for prompt and exceptional responses for services.
Colonel Salah Ahmed Mireich, head of the project’s main team, said that the project is being coordinated with strategic partners and all of the federal and local governmental departments. Seven work teams have been created with relevant roles, duties, authorisations, and jurisdictions in specific areas to implement the project requirements.
Major Salem Abdullah Saqr, Head of the Quality and Occupational Safety team of the project, said that the teams were created on the basis of the ministry’s approved methodologies and policies, and in accordance with the performance quality and excellence standards.
