Malian Parliament Speaker Issiaka Sidibe hailed Iran's scientific and technological achievements in the past three decades, and voiced Bamako's willingness to utilize Iran's valuable experiences in this field.
Speaking at a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi in Tehran on Tuesday, the Malian speaker called for utilizing Iran's experiences in various sectors.
He further voiced his country's support for Iran at international circles and called for active presence of Iran in the upcoming meeting of Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union in Mali.
The Malian official also briefed Sarmadi on his country's developments.
Sidibe, leading a parliamentary delegation, arrived in Iran to attend the second meeting of heads of foreign policy commissions of parliaments of countries known as Friends of Syria.
Iran is an observing member of the AU and has shown an active presence in previous AU summit meetings.
The country is considered as one of the AU's strategic partners along with India, Japan, China, several South American states and Turkey, while Tehran is also believed to be prioritizing promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states.
