Bill Nye, TV's Science Guy, and creationist Ken Ham talked past each other for more than two hours in a debate at Ham's Creation Museum in Kentucky. Ham argued for the literal truth of the account of creation in the Bible, the (Louisville) Courier reported. Nye in the debate Tuesday night pointed to scientific evidence that included radiocarbon dating, tree rings and the fossil record. "Science has been hijacked by secularists," Ham said. Nye pointed out that, while Ham believes the earth is about 6,000 years old, trees have been found that are older than that. An audience of about 800 watched at the museum. While more than 900 tickets were sold, which would have filled the museum's auditorium to capacity, foul weather kept some away, the newspaper said. Ham, originally from Australia, created what some refer to as a biblical Disneyland in Petersburg, Ky. Nye, a former mechanical engineer for Boeing, became famous in the 1990s with his show "Bill Nye the Science Guy" on PBS.
